These images are paintings that I did in a short space of time. I wanted to explore unconventional portraiture and thought this would be a good way to test it. The idea was to do 10 paintings, but only allowing 10 minutes on each one. They also had to be on random objects/ places around the studio such as walls, chairs etc.
I was really pleased with the outcome. I liked the idea of doing random famous faces on unexpected objects. This could be interpreted in many different ways. Such as the person being so influential they change the way we perceive the world. Or for the more infamous faces, it could be seen that they don't deserve to be immortalized on a canvas so instead they get painted on less glamorous objects such as bins.
This is the way I want to take my painting project and I'm going to continue exploring this idea.
